The University of Worcester and the Worcester Wolves are proud to provide Basketball and Netball Performance Days to help young and aspiring basketball and netball players actively studying in Sixth Forms, Colleges and Academies.
As the name suggests, student athletes will undertake a series of activities both in the strength and conditioning suite and on the basketball and netball court to measure their baseline athletic ability which will provide the foundations for individual development plans to work on after their visit.
Should the athlete then decide to study at the University of Worcester, the data will form the basis of the athletes skills and physical development journey profile.
The sessions will also provide you with the opportunity to talk with our coaching and support staff about our BUCS programme for basketball and netball, Worcester Wolves and our coach development opportunities.
Our experienced and dedicated Team will be on hand to ensure your athletes get all the benefits of attending a Performance Day.

Performance days span a minimum of four hours. Additionally, we provide several short add-on sessions designed to further enhance your athletes’ development both on and off the court, showcasing the support the University offers its student-athletes (you can choose one of these options when filling out the booking form).
Athlete Personal Development and Lifestyle (APDL) Workshop: 30 minutes
This workshop presents a chance to delve into off-court areas that can boost physical, mental, and social well-being. Topics covered in APDL workshops can vary widely, from resilience and growth mindset to sleep hygiene. Examples include athlete support networks, stress management, time management, and academic strategies. APDL motivates student-athletes to reflect on lifestyle adjustments they can make to ensure they are consistently improving by at least 1% each day.
Clean Sport Workshop: 30 minutes
Our clean sport workshops serve as a fantastic resource for educating athletes about their nutritional choices. While supplements are often used to enhance energy and strength, it’s essential to question whether this is the best method. We guide your athletes through various topics, including UKAD testing and doping protocols, sample collection processes, the effects of recreational drugs, and how to verify supplements and medications. At Worcester, we recognize that discussions around this subject can be sensitive and challenging for athletes. Our staff members possess extensive training and qualifications in this area, ensuring a supportive and respectful environment.
Sport Psychology Workshop: 30 minutes
This workshop allows student-athletes to gain insights into the psychological components of sports performance, such as managing on-court stress, improving focus, and building resilience for training and competitions. By grasping and implementing principles of sports psychology, student-athletes can enhance their mental toughness, which is vital for performing under pressure. Furthermore, these workshops typically offer practical strategies for goal setting, visualization, and sustaining motivation, all of which contribute to improved performance and a more enjoyable sporting experience. Whether you’re seeking a competitive advantage or simply wish to savor your sport more fully, a sports psychology workshop can equip you with invaluable tools and knowledge.
